“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” So said Dr Seuss, and the Prefects at Hugoversity couldn’t agree more. That’s why we’re celebrating this National Reading Day with the launch of our very own library.
Each month, The Pack will review a PR and marketing book and share our thoughts with you, so you can make an informed decision about what should make it onto your reading list.
At Hugoversity, we believe that you can teach an old dog new tricks, and that’s why we’re always looking for ways to expand our knowledge – there’s no reason learning should stop once your school days are over.
And with busier lives than ever before, there’s no better way to expand your horizons and take a moment for yourself than sitting down with a good book. As Roald Dahl said, “If you are going to get anywhere in life you have to read a lot of books”.
And that’s where the Hugoversity library comes in; no need for you to trawl through the thousands of PR and marketing books out there, we’ll pick the ones that have worked for us and you can give it a go if you think it’ll be of use.
Head Girl Charlotte will be kicking things off with the first three reviews, starting next month with How Brands Grow by Byron Sharp, followed by The Science of Storytelling by Will Storr in March and Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller in April.
The rest of the Prefects will be sharing their favourites over the rest of the year, and we’d also love for you to get involved, sharing ideas of books to review, giving us your feedback – maybe even joining us for a book club.
We’ll also be sharing more at the Hugoversity seminar tomorrow at Baldwins Durham, Belmont Business Park, Durham, DH1 1TW, from 8am – it would be great to see you there!
